As the semester comes to a close, we want to be sure you have the following virtual Lunch & Learns on your calendar. We hope you can join!
May 23: Lunch & Learn | Faculty First Responders
Faculty First Responders monitors extremist media coverage of higher education and supports academic workers experiencing targeted harassment as a result of their research, teaching, service, activist/organizing or social media activity. We do direct action to defend academic freedom and the free speech rights of academic workers. This lunch-&-learn workshop will present recommendations and best practices for academic freedom self-defense, as well as explain some of the context in which targeted harassment of higher education workers occurs.

June 6: Lunch & Learn | The state of affirmative action post-SCOTUS ruling and attacks on DEI in higher education
Join us via Zoom for a lunch & learn that will provide an update on the legal landscape in the wake of the Supreme Court’s decision that overturns more than 40 years of SCOTUS precedents, which permitted colleges/universities to adopt admissions programs that consider an applicant’s race as part of a holistic evaluation process. We’ll also discuss the spate of nationwide attacks on diversity, equity and inclusion in higher education, what’s at risk going forward, and what we can do collectively to maintain our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion in higher education in the face of these attacks. We’ll also have time for participants to share what you are experiencing on your campuses.
