Hassan Kwame Jeffries, associate professor of history at Ohio State, discussed teaching with primary sources to complicated normative narratives of slavery, the civil rights movement and Black Lives Matter protests. 4) Meet the Teenage Girls Creating a New Future

Tiana Day, 17, organized the first-ever Black Lives Matter protest across the Golden Gate Bridge. Shayla Turner, 18, spent part of her high school graduation week campaigning to improve Chicago’s public schools. Brianna Chandler, 18, organized a teach-in for local students to learn about racial justice. Six teens in Nashville, led by 16-year-old Zee Thomas, organized a march of more than 10,000 against police brutality.  How are these four extraordinary young women using their voices and sharing their vision with their communities?
