SDCCD Faculty Economic Negotiations Survey

Dear SDCCD Faculty,
After six years of drought, and thanks to the passage of Proposition 30, it looks like we will finally see some new monies coming our way!

Although we are still working on the final computations from our Resource Allocation Formula in order to determine how many $$ are available to us to be used for economic improvements for 2014, we would like to begin with asking everyone to let us know what your “wish list” for economic improvements would be so that as soon as we have identified the extent of available resources, we can hopefully move a bit faster to implementation. Our best estimate after paying for healthcare increases, step and column advances, etc., is that something in the range of the equivalent of a 1-3% salary increase should become available. This amount of money can potentially be applied in a number of different ways, for example: an across the board salary increase, increasing the percentage between or adding extra steps to the salary schedule, increasing the amount for adjunct office hours, ESUs, etc. These are just some possible examples. It’s up to us to decide how we want to spend those available resources.

Please take a moment to complete this survey no later than Wednesday, October 23rd. (Please do not reply to this email with your suggestions or your suggestions may not get recorded.) We will then compile everyone’s suggestions and send out a follow-up survey asking you to prioritize the suggestions which have been sent in. At the conclusion of negotiations everyone will have a chance to vote to ratify the final package.

Please let me know if you have any questions regarding this process. Thanks in advance for your participation!
