Registered Nurses at Scripps Encinitas are protesting the hospital¹s hard line stance in contract talks that compromises the ability of the hospital to retain its most experienced RNs and recruit new nurses.  After a candlelight vigil on March 10th, a one-day strike on April 14th, and continuous community pressure, hospital management still refuses to agree on a fair contract.  The nurses at Scripps Encinitas stand strong and are committed to seeing their demands met at the bargaining table.

Key issues include:
Union Shop that gives nurses the ability to be effective patient advocates
End to subjective Merit Pay and competitive Salary Steps that eliminate pay inequities and reward long term nurses for their experience and dedication.
A Professional Practice Committee of direct care RNs elected by their peers to meet with management on patient care issues. A PPC is standard in CNA contracts across the state.
