Dear GCCCD Adjunct Faculty Members (Chairs: please forward this message to your adjunct faculty),
In our previous round of contract negotiations we were able to win a new paid office hour program available for college adjunct faculty who choose to participate. The program only applies to the fall and spring semesters.
To be eligible for this program, you must:
- a) Submit this form to your dean’s office no later than the second week of your assignment;
- b) Include in your course syllabi the dates and times of your office hours. Important: since we are all working remotely, the office hours must be synchronous in nature via Zoom or similar platform. How you propose to accomplish this should be stated on your syllabus as well.
If you teach at more than one college in the district, you will need to turn in a separate form to each dean at each college.
The agreement between the Guild and the District for this pilot program fixes the pay rate at $30 per hour for the duration of the pilot (through June 30, 2023). And one last thing as you are preparing your syllabi, please add this following sentence encouraging all students to register to vote:
If you are not registered to vote, please register online today: registertovote.ca.gov Please choose the vote-by-mail option.
