Dear Colleagues,
All AFT Guild members and their students are welcome to attend the upcoming Progressive Labor Summit on Saturday, April 13th. Please share with your students and see more details along with the registration link below.
This is a great opportunity for students to learn more about the labor movement and local politics from a wide range of labor and community activists as well as elected officials.
The event starts at 9:00AM and goes until 4:00PM. At 1:15 there will be a special panel on Community Colleges featuring SDCCD Trustee Maria Nieto Senour, SDCCD Chancellor Greg Smith, Southwestern College Trustee Zanetta Encarnacion, AFT 1931 organizer Larissa Dorman, and AFT Political Action VP Jim Miller with a focus on the $30 an hour minimum wage and the 32-hour work week along with other vital Community College issues.
Lunch will be provided! We hope to see you there!
