Need Your Calls! Opposition to Online College and new Funding Formula

Dear Colleagues,

We are down to the final 2-3 days of the budget negotiations in the Capitol!  Please take a moment of your time and make the two calls listed below.  We need large numbers of members calling in at this point.  All you need to say is:  “I’m calling as a member of the California Federation of Teachers, and I want to register my opposition to the Online College and new Funding Formula proposals from the Governor’s May Revise.”

If we can generate enough calls, it will make a difference.

Many thanks in advance!

Jim

Dear Colleagues,

Please see attached the letters we sent out yesterday to the Assembly and Senate budget committees in opposition to the Online College and new Funding Formula proposals from the Governor’s May Revise.

Calls from our members to Assembly Speaker Rendon (916-319-2063) and Senate Pro Tem Atkins (619-645-3133) offices would be helpful.  If you call Atkins’s office, make sure to state you are a local constituent of hers in San Diego.

Simply state that you are calling as a member of the California Federation of Teachers, and you want to register your opposition to the Online College and new Funding Formula proposals from the Governor’s May Revise.

30 seconds of your time really can make a difference here as we get down to the wire before the budget is signed!
