March in March Message

Sent on behalf of Geoff Johnson, AFT Guild, Local 1931 “March in March” Coordinator.

Hi All:

The March in March is a coalition of labor and student advocacy who advocate for student affordability, access, and wrap-around student services, and better working conditions for all campus workers.

While the March itself (Scheduled for Thursday march 12th, 2026) is part of what we do, the march itself is part of a larger advocacy campaign. One which kicks off Friday, September 26th.

Please see below a RSVP flyer for the March in March Virtual Kickoff Event on Friday, September 26th from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM

The event will consist of a panel discussion led by a student moderator from the SSCCC, two other students, and James McKeveer, Los Angeles City College Sociology Professor and President of the Los Angeles City College Faculty Guild, and Carl Williams, President of the Council of Classified Employees and AFT Vice President. Please share this information with your local membership and encourage your students to attend.

Perhaps you may want to consider it as an extra credit opportunity.

In solidarity,
Geoff Johnson AFT 1931
Member March in March Planning Committee
