Dear College Faculty Colleagues,
I realize we just ratified our 2008 re-opener articles, but being the action oriented group that we are, we need to start planning for our successor agreement which will replace our current collective bargaining agreement (cba) due to expire December 31, 2008.
We are in the process of developing our initial proposal for this successor agreement. In order to solicit your input, we have developed a very simple survey for you to participate in.
Your feedback on this survey is extremely important to us as we head into this next round of negotiations.
Keeping in mind that there are not likely to be any new resources coming in from the state for at least two years, the survey asks for only the non-economic items you would like to see us negotiate into the next contract (i.e.; items that don’t cost anything).
After we have received your responses, we will send out a second survey to see how important each submitted item is to each of you.
We realize salary and benefits are the two issues most important to all of you. If indeed resources do materialize from the state, we will be sending out a revised survey form.
Please take a few minutes out of your busy schedule to access the survey:
Thank you for taking the time to provide your AFT negotiating team with your input!
In Unity,
Jim Mahler, President
