Dear AFT Guild Members,

The CFT Standing Committees are a function of the CFT State Council to assist in refining and implementing the policies as set by the delegates at the CFT Convention.

This email is a request for nominations if you are interested in serving on one of the 14 CFT Statewide Standing Committees.

The term for committee members covers two academic years starting with the first meeting in October, 2023 through the 2025 CFT Convention. There are seven meetings for the two-year term, with additional responsibilities between meetings. For a member to be nominated, you must accept the responsibilities to attend all seven meetings, participate in any committee video/call conferences that may be needed between meetings, and assist with the progress of the goals and priorities of the committee throughout the term, including advocating on behalf of the CFT on such issues.

Attached are two documents:
1) A summary of all the CFT committees, including their areas of focus;

2) An application form to fill out and return.

If you are interested in serving on one of these committees, please complete and return the application form to me (except for the “local president” section), including the “Reasons for Recommendation” boxno later than Friday, May 12th.

We typically have a good number of our members serving on these committees, I hope that we can do even better this time around!  Please let me know if you have any additional questions or need more information.

In Solidarity,
Jim
