If you, like myself, put on a few extra pounds over the holidays, we have the perfect weight loss plan for you: come walk a precinct or two this Saturday on behalf of Mat Kostrinsky for City Council!
Mat’s race is one of our targeted races of this election season. You may already know Mat for his tireless work over the years for the United Domestic Workers and SEIU, helping workers have a voice in the political process to advocate for better jobs and more accessible health care. We are very excited to be campaigning for Mat.
We will be meeting this Saturday, January 28 at 8 a.m. at Lake Murray Community Park (6739 Murray Park Drive, SD, CA 92119) and then returning for a BBQ at noon (diet plates will be available). More info. available below.
Dust off your walking shoes and we hope to see you this Saturday!

Subject: From Mat: What do 100 people have in common?
Answer: Walking Saturday, Jan 28th in a neighborhood around the new San Diego City Council District 7.
Can you check you calendar about coming, maybe check with a friend too?
Saturday, Jan 28 – I am, in political talk, holding a precinct walk. In other words, it is walking to registered voters who live within the new San Diego City Council District 7.
I will provide you a simple list of names and their home addresses with background information on registered voters either for your own neighborhood or a neighborhood within the new district. I will provide you a nice four sided handout about myself and why I am running for City Council, some frequently asked questions people may ask you and other handy materials to help you talk to residents. I will even have a training in the morning to explain a “precinct walk” and make you feel more comfortable about it. I will provide you with coffee, water and energy food.
So, please check your calendar for Saturday, January 28th from 8:00 am – 8:15 am for sign-in, then training and finally some walking and talking to residents telling them about me, before my BBQ at noon back at my house.
Can you do it? Even if you can’t make it, please let me know.
