AFT to Trump: Meet with us to talk about how to make schools safe

The AFT sent an open letter to President Trump yesterday asking him to meet with our leaders to ensure that schools are safe sanctuaries and to listen to our concerns about arming teachers. “I hope that together we can find common ground on effective, meaningful solutions to protect our children, educators and schools,” AFT President Randi Weingarten says in the letter. “But that means listening to and learning from those who know our schools best.”
