|I’m thrilled to announce that we’re doing a roundtable on the subject of reopening schools with Dr. Jill Biden and Sen. Elizabeth Warren next week. We’ll have a conversation with them, along with three members, live on Facebook, which I will moderate, and we’ll make sure other members have the opportunity to submit questions during the event.
I want you to have all the details for this roundtable: The event will be on July 9 at 5 p.m. EDT. We’ll be livestreaming it on our Facebook page, and I’ll email out a link to it before the event goes live.
Jill Biden and Elizabeth Warren have walked our walk. Both are educators, and they know the importance of the work we do. They’re both committed to our values and are excited to participate in the roundtable with us. This will be a great opportunity for us to engage with the campaign.
Throughout this primary season, our endorsement process has been the most open process we’ve ever had. We wanted to make sure that the nominee shared our values, engaged with our members and was supported by our members. Our work with the Biden campaign has been productive. They’re listening, and they’re working with us. As you know, I was appointed to the Biden-Sanders Unity Task Force on education, and I’m very positive about the work we have accomplished.
In Joe Biden, we’ll have a partner in the White House. Even the fact that two key members of his campaign are taking time to talk to us makes this clear.
Here’s how you can get your members involved in this roundtable:
First, invite them to ask a question or submit a story. Share this submission form with your members so they can submit a question or a story for Jill Biden or Elizabeth Warren.
Second, on July 9 at 5 p.m. EDT, please tune in, watch and share it on Facebook.
This is the most important election of our lifetimes, so engaging our members is more important than ever.
