Dear GCCCD AFT Guild Unit Members,
I am pleased to report that earlier today we were able to finalize our negotiations with the District for a “remote work” stipend in the amount of a one-time $500 payment to all GCCCD faculty.
All faculty = any faculty member who worked in any capacity during the Fall 2020, Intersession 2021, or Spring 2021 terms, providing that faculty member has not resigned, retired, or otherwise permanently separated from the District prior to today’s date.
This payment will be part of your gross taxable wages in your June 30, 2021 paycheck. No paperwork or receipts will be needed to be submitted, this will be an automatic process.
We fully realize that this stipend amount may not cover all of the out of pocket expenses you have experienced since remote work began, but hopefully it will go a long way towards mitigating those expenses.
We are fortunate to have been able to negotiate this one-time stipend for everyone, especially considering the challenging fiscal times the District still finds itself in.
Enjoy and don’t spend it all in one place! (unless you are planning on purchasing really good red wine, then it’s OK)
