2017 RAF Allocations Delayed

Dear SDCCD Colleagues,

Unfortunately, due to ongoing delays on the District’s side regarding both performing the Resource Allocation Formula (RAF) calculations and responding to our requested cost-outs for our economic proposals, the RAF allocations will not be available to pass on to our membership by January 1 as required by our Agreement with the District.

AFT sent the District all of the information it needed to reply in a timely manner last June.  Now, six month’s later, we still have not received all of the financial information we need to be able to finalize a settlement and put it out for a ratification vote to our membership.

Hopefully, we will be able to bring everything to closure sometime in January, with a ratification vote taking place soon after the spring semester begins.  Whatever shape our final settlement takes, it will be retroactive to January 1.

All January and February salary step movements will take place as scheduled, they will not be affected by this delay.

Sorry I don’t have better news to report, but despite our repeated requests over the past six months for faster progress, we have been unsuccessful in gaining the cooperation we have needed in order to reach a timely settlement.

Please let me know if you have any questions or need any further clarifications.

In Unity,

Jim
