This year your AFT Guild will be joining the San Diego-Imperial Counties Labor Council’s May Day March on Wednesday, May 1st at 3:30 outside the Thomas Jefferson School of Law at 701 B Street. We hope you can come out and celebrate the power of working people standing together in solidarity. On May 1st we remember the folks who brought you the weekend and raise our voices in support of all workers who are still fighting for basic rights in the workplace and a living wage.
Along with our brothers and sisters in labor, we’ll be joined by community allies and students from across the city. So bring a colleague, a friend or family member, and invite your students. All are welcome!
In the wake of the successful public education strikes across the country, we encourage you to wear “Red for Ed” if you can (or an AFT shirt or button) and come out to represent education workers vital role in the American Labor Movement as we struggle for quality public education for all.
If you can, please share the event on social media and help us spread the word: https://www.facebook.com/events/581129279020969/
We hope to see you there!
