AFT National Convention, July 13-16, 2018

Dear AFT Guild Member:

The 85^th Biennial Convention of the American Federation of Teachers will be held at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, PA, commencing Friday, July 13^th, continuing through Monday, July 16^th, 2018.

All AFT Guild members in good standing are eligible to be nominated as a delegate to the convention.  To be nominated, you will need to solicit the signatures of ten (10) other AFT members.  A nominating petition is attached.  It must be received in the AFT office:  3737 Camino del Rio South, Suite 410, San Diego, CA  92108 (fax: 619-640-1154) no later than 12:00 noon, Thursday, May 31^st, 2018.  (Please do not email your nomination petition to me.)

Once confirmed as a delegate, you will be responsible for booking and paying for your own travel, meals, and hotel reservations.  The Guild will not be reimbursing any of these Convention related expenses.  District travel funds, subject to your site’s approval process, may be used to cover all or part of these costs.
