For a limited time all AFT members are offered a free membership in the La Mesa – Foothills Democratic Club. Membership in this club traditionally cost $20 per person. However, in an effort to increase the Democratic voice in San Diego County and encourage those in the teaching profession to become increasingly active in the political process, AFT members can have all the benefits of membership for free. Any AFT member that is a registered Democrat living within the regional jurisdiction of the club is welcome.
The La Mesa – Foothills Democratic Club is a regional club representing the area between the eastern portions of the City to El Cajon and from the Spring Valley/Lemon Grove areas north to Miramar. It includes La Mesa, Mt. Helix, San Carlos, the SDSU area, Lemon Grove, Spring Valley, Del Cerro and Allied Gardens.
Involvement in a local Democratic Club increases the voting strength of the local Democratic Party and gives each member a voice in the selection of future candidates. If you are tired of being disappointed by the caliber of local elected officials, join this club and ensure that the next Democrat elected in your community meets your standards.
The La Mesa – Foothills Democratic Club meets the 1st Wednesday of every month from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at 5045 Memorial Drive in La Mesa. A social with refreshments begins a 6:30p.m. before every meeting.
