UPDATE: #BlackWomenAreDivine weekend (10/2/2020)

Member,

You might’ve seen our email earlier about this upcoming weekend — our #BlackWomenAreDivine weekend of reclaiming our Divinity in the name of Breonna Taylor.

George, it’s time to get excited!

Black Lives Matter Grassroots chapters everywhere are taking part in this weekend’s reclamation of Divinity — how will you honor the Black women and femmes in your life this weekend?

Whether you’ve mastered the Zoom happy hour already, or you plan to do something as simple as letting your fellow Black women know that you love them — dedicate this weekend to honoring the Black women in your life. This weekend, empowering our Black women to reclaim their Divinity will lie within every virtual or in-person event, every love letter, every gift given — everything.

Black women: We deserve this and more. Click here to visit the official website for our #BlackWomenAreDivine weekend to learn more.

And to our allies: Allyship to the Black women (cis, trans, and nonbinary) in your life is SO important! That’s why we want you to participate in the weekend of empowering Black women to reclaim their Divinity.

Whether you can create a safe space for the Black women in your life or you plan on participating in a protest for Black lives, do something to uplift Black women this weekend and beyond!

The possibilities are endless — you can write them love letters, you could send them flowers from one of these Black-owned florists (U.S. and Canada), you could even treat them to dinner with takeout from a Black-owned restaurant using the EatOkra App.

Spreading awareness this weekend is just as important — so be sure to look out for the social graphics that we’ve created to empower others to uplift Black women for our #BlackWomenAreDivine weekend! Follow us on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
