Dear Colleagues,
My son, Chase Morrin, is the recipient of the highest level scholarship from Union Plus (representing AFT) for the 2012-2013 academic school year (out of a pool of 6,000 applicants nationwide). Both Union Plus and AFT sent him really nice congratulatory letters. The students fill out applications and write an essay on what the union means and/or has done for them. Chase's scholarship will be used for his sophomore year at Harvard. His letter of recommendation was written by Ken Ard (adjunct piano faculty at Grossmont College).
The 2013-2014 application is available and due January 31.
I hope other AFT members will apply. I am going to encourage Chase to apply for another union sponsored scholarship to help his junior year, 2013-2014.
