#WalkTheVote: Support David Alvarez for Mayor of San Diego!

There are just 6 days left to get out the vote for San Diego's next mayor:  Councilmember David Alvarez!

The special election for mayor of San Diego is next Tuesday, November 19th and the AFT endorsed candidate David Alvarez is in a dead heat with Nathan Fletcher to face Kevin Faulconer in the run-off.  Indeed our tracking polls show the outcome leaning towards Alvarez but still within the margin of error.  

Thus whoever gets out the vote will win next Tuesday.  We have had a big crew of AFT student interns calling and walking precincts over the last six weeks.  Fueled by idealism they have worked long and hard to help get us this far.  We thank them for their dedication and effort.  

Now we’re asking for your help. Please come out this Saturday November 16th at 9:00am to the Labor Council (3737 Camino del Rio South) for the final ALVAREZ FOR MAYOR Super Walk.  We ask you to give us this one morning to help build a brighter future for our students and our community. 

Walking a precinct to get out the vote is easy but crucially important work.  You’ll get a brief training, be given a map and directions, and you should be able to walk your precinct in an hour or two.  You will only be contacting voters who have already committed to Alvarez.  So please come out and get some exercise for a great cause.  Let’s elect David Alvarez as our next mayor!
