In addition to the back-to-school materials highlighted in the June 20 issue of AFTCN News and Tools, the AFT has pulled together additional materials with more of a PSRP focus. The PSRP resources includes brochures--many of which can be customized by local unions--on topics such as communicating with parents, managing student behavior on the school bus, workplace stress, indoor environmental quality and creating a classroom team. Information and an order form for the PSRP materials are available on LeaderNet.

Advocacy for Public Schools
The Learning First Alliance is a self-initiated partnership of 18 of the nation’s leading education organizations. The American Federation of Teachers is a member. This fall, author David Eggers and Oscar-winning filmmaker Vanessa Roth aim to begin production on a film that will “do for public schools what An Inconvenient Truth did for the environment,” says the LFA news release. Eggers is the author of A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius and other books.
