By action of the CFT Executive Council, the CFT has endorsed Barack Obama for the office of President of the United States.

Please advise your members of this action so they can begin to make contributions (both fiscal and with volunteer work) to his campaign. A local can add their own endorsement if they wish but can not make a fiscal contribution as the AFT is the umbrella group for making such contributions under federal reporting requirements and limits.

P.S. from Mahler:  Our local, 1931, already endorsed Obama at our October 4th, 2007 union meeting held at City College.  I am sure the AFT national will endorse him at the convention in July.
