I like to work with challenging students who are just starting to figure out what they can accomplish if they take themselves seriously. Outside of work, I like to spend time working in the garden, walking my dogs, taking hikes, going to the beach, being with my grandson (for short stints), reading interesting books, and talking to people who think about a lot of things and have passionate beliefs. My two heroes as a child were Helen Keller and Eleanor Roosevelt, which I still believe were wise choices for lots of different reasons.
