City College Labor Studies Classes for the Spring:
Labor Law (Labor Studies 102) - Practical legal background for labor relations, this course focuses on real problems brought to the class by the students and how the law can help solve those problems. Monday Evenings, 6:00-9:20 at the American Federation of Teachers Office 3737 Camino del Rio South, San Diego 92108
U.S. Working Class and Cinema (English 209) - From Salt of the Earth to Roger and Me, this special section of English 209 focuses on films that feature the lives and struggles of workers. Thursday evenings, 6:55-10:00 pm, Room B-203 at City College.
Classes Start January 31. Pre-enroll (SDCCD.net) or come to class on the first night.
ALSO, Coming in late Spring - Short Courses
Occupational Safety and Health (tentatively on Saturdays, April 16, 23, and 30; this course is 24 hours for 1.5 units)
Shop Steward Training 1 and 2 (each course is 16 hours for 1-unit)
These courses may be used for salary advancement for both faculty (subject to prior approval of site VP) and classified staff.
